Your Job Search: On Fleek

Your Job Search: On Fleek

In 2016, what's the best way to land an entry-level job? A blue collar job? A high-paying job that doesn't require a four-year degree? (And what the heck does "on fleek" mean, anyway?) Find out here.

Work-Life Balance? LOL!

Work-Life Balance? LOL!

According to Gallup, the average workweek is up to 47 hours -- where's the balance in that?!? If your career (or any other aspect of your life) is feeling "out of whack," use this four-step method to get back on track.

Overhauls? Makeovers? Reinventions? Who needs 'em!?

Overhauls? Makeovers? Reinventions? Who needs 'em!?

If you think you need an "extreme life makeover" to be happier, relax. All you really need is a few small tweaks!

What's the Best Time to Schedule an Interview?

10:30 a.m. on a Tuesday. Here's why:

  1. Mondays and Fridays are "bookend" days, when employers are gearing up or down for the week. Using the same logic, you should avoid the first or last interview slots on any workday.
  2. Lunchtime appointments can affect an interviewer's concentration. Right before, he may be hungry; right after, he may be in a proverbial "food coma."
  3. In general, unless the employer is in a real hiring "crunch," research shows that your best interview times are late mornings, Tuesdays through Thursdays.
