Ideal for tough or surprise interview questions, use the HIRE answer framework to stay calm, organized and confident in your answers.
1. H – Hook
Begin with a confident, positive opening that directly addresses the question.
Avoid filler phrases like "That's a good question."
Examples: "I'm glad you asked that," or "Yes, I do."
2. I – Inspire
Clearly state your main message or key point.
Deliver it with conviction to convey confidence.
Example: "I have the experience you are looking for."
3. R – Reinforce
Support your main message with 2–4 specific examples, reasons or proof points.
Choose a structure that best fits your message: reasons, evidence, situations or chronological steps.
4. E – Engage
Conclude with a forward-looking statement that expresses enthusiasm and readiness.
Examples: "I look forward to the possibility of fulfilling this role," or "I am excited by the challenges this role represents and am confident I will be able to meet them."
